Man Creates Map to Show the Worst City in Every State (According to His Instagram Followers)

If you’re someone who needs a chart to understand something, then look no further than Matt Shirley, who “tries to make a chart every day,” according to his Instagram. This chart-making guy has a chart for literally everything, and they’re mostly humorous—you know, like a periodic table of stuff drunk people like to how well people understand the stock market, and so on. You get the picture.

Many of his charts have to do with the United States, like one word that describes every sate’s people or every state’s least favorite state. He gets all of his data from his Instagram followers—of which he has nearly 300,000 of—so while everything may not be scientifically accurate, it does come from a place of truth.

One of his most popular state charts is a map that shows the worst city in every state—according to his followers.

Many people seem to agree with the answers—but some don’t (even though they were the ones who voted).

“Virginia Beach is hands down one of the best cities in the state. I disagree with it being the worst,” someone responded. “However, as someone who was born and raised in New Jersey, I totally can agree that Camden is the worst ever. So there is a love hate with this list. I love it when you post lists about each state likes or dislikes.”

“I feel like there’s far worse cities than Modesto,” another person posted in response to California’s “worst city,” which was split into two. “But I agree with Bakersfield.” “Nashville is way more expensive than Memphis in every way, horrendous traffic, and nothing but country-themed everything,” someone wrote about the choice that was picked for Tennessee.

As you can see, there’s quite a bit of agreement and disagreement. Be sure to check out the list below for the worst city in your state (but remember, it’s not based on much!).

Additionally, Matt also has a map showcasing the best cities in each state. This one seems a bit more accurate, according to his followers—but again, take it all with a grain of salt!

Do you agree or disagree with Matt’s picks for worst cities in each state? Did you city make the list? What about the votes for best cities? If you disagree with any, be sure to let us know what you would’ve chosen instead!
