The First Full-Length Trailer for the ‘Downton Abbey’ Movie Is Finally Here

If you’re a diehard Downton Abbey fan, you probably already know that original series creator Julian Fellowes and director Brian Percival are in the middle of creating an entire movie based off the show.

The movie comes a long four years after the show’s finale episode, which had fans feeling all sorts of ways emotionally. And after so many years of silence, creators have been making up for it by get their fans excited for the arrival to the big screen.

First, they released a series of posters that show scenes of the characters (which we couldn’t help but want to by a dozen of for our home). And then they released a one-minute teaser trailer that gave just enough details for everyone to want more, but not enough to fully know what we can expect from the film.

But we’ve got some amazing news. We now have more info thanks to the new full-length trailer that’s finally here!

“Since the series ended, fans of Downton have long been waiting for the Crawley family’s next chapter,” Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to join this incredible group of filmmakers, actors and craftspeople, led by Julian Fellowes and Gareth Neame, in bringing back the world of Downton to the big screen next September.”

The new trailer shows all the TV series’ original stars together again—including Elizabeth McGovern, Hugh Bonneville, Maggie Smith, Allen Leech, Laura Carmichael, Michelle Dockery, Joanne Froggatt, Matthew Goode, Michael Fox and more. The movie will be set in 1927, about a year and a half after the finale ran.
