Rest in Peace, ‘The Office’ Actor Has Passed Away

The entertainment world is mourning the loss of Ewen MacIntosh, the talented actor and comedian renowned for his role as “Big Keith” in the beloved series The Office U.K. MacIntosh, passed away at 50. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter and memorable performances.

The announcement of MacIntosh’s peaceful passing came from his management company, JustRight Management, on February 21, 2024. The statement read, “With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved comedy genius Ewen MacIntosh. His family thank all who supported him, especially Willow Green Care Home.”

The actor’s family plans to hold a private cremation ceremony for close friends and family, followed by a “celebratory memorial” later this year.

While the cause of MacIntosh’s death remains undisclosed at this time, tributes have poured in from colleagues and fans, reflecting on his contributions to the world of comedy. Ricky Gervais, the creator of The Office, shared a touching tribute on social media, describing MacIntosh as “very funny and very lovely” and an “absolute original.”

Beyond The Office, MacIntosh left his mark on several British comedy series, including Miranda and Little Britain. His most recent acting credit was in Britain’s 2017 romantic comedy, Finding Fatimah.

Colleagues and friends, including Miranda Hart, expressed their grief over MacIntosh’s passing. Hart, who starred in Miranda, remembered him in a heartfelt Instagram post, saying, “Thank you, Ewen, for making me laugh. We were the same age and crossed paths many times as we did our best to be funny and make a living out of it.”

Ed Scott, a music executive and close friend of MacIntosh, shared a moving tribute on Twitter, emphasizing the actor’s genuine, kind-hearted nature. “Ewen was so full of empathy, kindness, and integrity and above all a really good man,” Scott tweeted. He extended condolences to MacIntosh’s family, including his parents Sara and Ewen Sr, his brother Colin, and his friends and fans.
