Jamie Lopez seemed to be having a great 2022. Towards the beginning of the year, the plus size influencer and owner of Babydoll Beauty Couture shared a video on YouTube telling her followers that she had lost 400 pounds in just one year. Then, she went on to tell them how she did it.

Being plus size was her niche. She didn’t want her plus size followers to feel like she had abandoned them, but considering she went from about 800 pounds to about 400 pounds, she was still a big girl. After dropping about half her weight, she was just much healthier and found it easier to get around.

Then another great thing happened. She got a reality show on We TV called “Super Sized Salon” that followed her weight loss and her life running her salon in Las Vegas.

Unfortunately, shortly after the last episode of the first season of her show aired, her company announced some devastating news.

In a statement released by Babydoll Beauty Couture on December 19, 2022, her company shared, “On behalf of the Babydoll Beauty Couture team, we regretfully announce, with great pain, the passing of The Founder & Owner of Babydoll Beauty Couture, The Legendary Jamie Lopez.”

The statement continued by asking for “time to process this tremendous loss” and “space to grieve in peace.” The company also asked for followers to “keep our Babydoll family & team lifted in your hearts and prayers.”

The statement did not include a cause of death. Lopez was only 37 years old.

According to sources who spoke to TMZ, Lopez had been hospitalized and died due to heart complications.

TMZ also reported that Lopez was scheduled to start filming season 2 of her show in the near future. Now, with her unexpected death, the future of her show and her salon is unclear.
