On Halloween night, October 31, 2023, while many kids were returning home with buckets of candy from trick or treating, there was a scary scene happening in Hollywood. We’re not talking about anything with movie magic involved. This was real life, although it did involve a celebrity.

Around 9 p.m. on Halloween, an electric truck crashed into a pizza restaurant at the corner of Hollywood Blvd and La Brea Blvd. This intersection is often busy and just down the street from the famous Chinese Theater. It’s also where the famous Walk of Fame begins.

Multiple cameras caught the incident as it happened. The truck raced through the intersection and crashed into the side of the restaurant, which is located at the end of a strip mall. Thankfully, the truck didn’t hit anyone.

Here is a view of the incident right after it happened, as filmed by TikToker @olgaparusske.

In this video, you can see a man checking out the scene and the damage. That man is Tim Radcliff, an owner of a couple of restaurants next to the pizza place that was hit by the truck. He described the crash as feeling “like a bomb” or as if “something exploded.”

Radcliff immediately ran outside to see what happened and to see how he could help. He realized that nobody was hurt by the truck, but he was concerned about the driver.

It turns out that the driver was “Succession” star Alan Ruck. He was not injured in the crash either, and Radcliff describes him as being concerned about everyone else, hoping nobody got hurt. He also seemed confused. Radcliff said, “He told me he doesn’t know what happened.”

According to TMZ, Ruck was not drunk, so a DUI didn’t cause the crash. What did? The incident is still under investigation. Watch the video below for the latest updates.
