Sometimes we don’t know what internal struggles someone is facing. Sometimes they don’t let anyone know. They seem completely normal and happy on the outside until, one day, we realize that wasn’t the case.

Stephen “tWitch” Boss died on December 13, 2022. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head. He committed suicide.

Just days before his death, on December 10th, he celebrated his 9 year anniversary with his wife, Alison Holker.

Just one day before his anniversary, on December 9th, he celebrated his grandfather’s 84th birthday. He wrote on Instagram, “Shouting the BIGGEST HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY GRANDFATHER (DADA)! I love you! IG fam help me wish him happy birthday.”

Now,  Stephen’s grandfather, Eddy Boss, is speaking out about the last time he talked to Stephen and the last thing Stephen said to him. Eddy spoke to The Daily Mail and claimed there were “no signs” that Stephen was going to take his life.

The last time Stephen communicated with his grandfather was via text. Stephen simply wrote, “I love you Dad-Dad.”

The last time Stephen spoke to Eddy was the Saturday before his death. Eddy explained, “We spoke as recently as Saturday on more than one occasion. He was the same happy-go-lucky person that he’s always been. We had no indication that anything was out of the ordinary.” Eddy added, “He was a very humble, generous person. He brought light into everybody’s lives. We’re completely devastated right now. All I can say is he was a beautiful person that contributed so much to this world and to everyone he met in a positive way. We miss him dearly and we’re hurting tremendously.”

Perhaps the text “I love you Dad-Dad” should have been a warning sign. Eddy said, “Every word has meaning. His last words to me were a simple text that says ‘I love you Dad-Dad.’ Our question is why? Where did it come from?'”

Eddy has yet to accept that his grandson’s death was a suicide even though the LAPD confirmed that the death was caused by a “self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

Since Stephen’s death, Eddy has traveled from Arizona to be with his grandson’s wife and three children. Stephen’s mother and brother have also traveled to Stephen’s home.
