Star Of Netflix Hit Reality Show Dies At 62
Shay is also known for being super wealthy. Her riches reportedly came from the company Pacific Architects and Engineers, a company founded by her father, a company that was a global contractor for American defense services starting in the 1960s. After their father’s death, Shay and her brother, Allen, sold the company to Lockheed Martin.
Money may buy some level of happiness, and “Bling Empire” certainly brought Shay unexpected fame, fame she didn’t necessarily even want; however, money cannot buy eternal life. Shay’s family released a statement explaining that Shay has died at the age of 62. Cause of death was a stroke.
The statement explains, “It saddens our hearts to announce that Anna Shay, a loving mother, grandmother, charismatic star, and our brightest ray of sunshine, has passed away at the early age of 62 from a stroke.” The statement continues, “Anna taught us many life lessons on how not to take life too seriously and to enjoy the finer things. Her impact on our lives will be forever missed but never forgotten.”
Shay once told PEOPLE that she is shy and “wasn’t even expecting to be in front of the camera.” She explained that during the show she was just being herself.
Kim Lee told Variety that Shay’s death was “such a huge shock.” Lee added, “I have so much love for Anna. I know that we had issues on the show but in real life, I had such a great connection with her outside of the show. We saw eye to eye, and she gave me so many words of wisdom I will never forget. There’s no one like Anna Shay; she’s an incredible and unique person who was beloved by so many people. My thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.”
Shay is survived by her son, Kenny Kemp, as well as unnamed grandchildren. Watch the video below to learn more about Shay’s unexpected death.
