Cori Broadus is rapper Snoop Dogg’s 24-year-old daughter. She has struggled with her health ever since she was 6 years old. That’s when she was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system attacks healthy tissue as if it’s a virus.

Broadus is used to battling lupus after all this time. She previously told PEOPLE that she used to manage her lupus by “taking 10 to 12 pills every single day.” In 2023, she changed that. She stopped taking the pills and focused on a healthy lifestyle. She explained, “I’m just doing everything natural, all types of herbs, sea moss, teas. I started working out, drinking lots of water. So now I think my body’s like, OK, this is the new program and she’s getting used to it.”

While she described her health as “better than ever” after switching from taking pills to focusing on a healthy lifestyle, she also expressed “it’s a day-by-day process. Things are going to take time. Nothing is going to happen overnight.”

Unfortunately, Broadus recently experienced a very scary medical emergency. While it’s unrelated to her lupus, it was very serious and scared her so much that she wrote in an Instagram story, “Like I’m only 24, what did I do in my past to deserve all of this.”

Broadus revealed in the Instagram story that she “had a severe stroke.” When she received the diagnosis, she “started breaking down crying.”

Broadus did not give any details about what may have caused the stroke or what her recovery process looks like; however, multiple people have shared her story and expressed that they are praying for her.
