We are able to save money on cotton balls by buying the extra large ones at the $-Store and tearing them in half when we use one. For our purposes this works just fine and we get twice the amount out of one bag.

Also, if you don’t absolutely need cotton ones, the “cotton-type” material packed on top in many products such as aspirin bottles, works great in many instances and is free.
