Many parents go over the top when planning their child’s 1st birthday party. It’s important to keep in mind that the child will most likely never even remember this party or even understand exactly what the party is all about at the time. This is a party that is mainly a celebration for the parents.

Unlike when children get older and have strong ideas about what they like and dislike, parents get to choose the theme of the first birthday party. They may choose a common theme that represents a show or character their baby seems to like, such as Cocomelon or Mickey Mouse. Or, they may choose a theme of their own creation.

One mom is getting a lot of negative comments for the theme of her daughter Lilith’s first birthday party. The mother shared multiple photos of the bash on TikTok, and TikTok users have taken to the comments with shock and concern claiming that the decorations are “satanic.”

Let’s start as most parties do with the invitations. According to the invitations, the party’s theme is “Cute as Hell.”

Many of the decorations at the party were pink and black. Lilith was also dressed in all black.

While the colors pink and black may not be all that concerning for party decor, other decorations, like the pinata and the design on the smash cake and cupcakes left TikTok users claiming evidence of a satanic party.

For example, the pinata was in the shape of Baphomet, a goat-headed pagan idol that is often used in occult rituals. Then, there’s the smash cake and cupcakes which featured a star that TikTok users claim is a satanic star.

The 1-year-old’s mom, Janeth Zapata, who lives in Mexico with her family, responded to the criticism and controversy claiming that the party was in no way satanic. She explained, “One. We’re not Satanists. Two. There were guests. Three. The party didn’t have anything Satanic. Four. The piñata isn’t Satan, nor the Devil, it’s Baphomet. Five. The pentagram isn’t inverted because it’s not Satanic.”

Do you think the party decorations were inappropriate for a 1st birthday party? Do you think the decorations look satanic?
