Sad Kim Cattrall News
Actress Kim Cattrall is probably best known for playing Samantha in the “Sex and the City” series and movies, and she is also known for refusing to play the role again in the spinoff series “And Just Like That.”
The actress announced some sad news on Instagram yesterday. Her mother, Shane Cattrall, has died at the age of 93.
Kim posted a series of photos of herself with her mother and captioned the post, “Shane Cattrall 1929 – 2022 Rest in peace Mum.”

Kim did not give a cause of death, but her mother appeared to be in good health earlier this year. Previously, in honor of Mother’s Day, Kim wished her mom a happy Mother’s Day and posted a picture of the two of them together.

Prior to that, Kim posted a video of her mother on happily singing a song. This post was in honor of UK Mother’s Day.

Kim also posted a couple photos of herself with her mother in February when her mother celebrated her 93rd birthday. She wrote at the time, “Happy 93rd Birthday Mum! You’ve seen it all and we’re lucky to still have you with us.”

Her mother’s death is not the first sad loss in Kim’s family. Her younger brother, Chris Cattrall, died 5 years ago at the age of 55. Kim posted the news on social media at the time, and her former co-star, Sarah Jessica Parker, sent her well wishes. Kim didn’t take the good wishes well. Instead, she snapped back writing, “My Mom asked me today ‘When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?'”
Kim has made it clear that she was never really friends with her co-stars on “Sex and the City” and she doesn’t keep in touch with them. In the video below, Kim tells Piers Morgan why she never had kids and why she doesn’t keep in touch with her former co-stars.
