Sad Gene Simmons News

Gene Simmons, vocalist and bass player for the legendary Rock band KISS, suffered from health problems during a recent performance in Brazil. The situation was captured on camera by fans.

KISS formed in the 1970s, and at age 71, Simmons was having trouble keeping up with the rest of the band during a show in Manaus, Brazil on April 12, 2023.

The publication ACritica posted a video of the concert on Twitter and shared exactly what happened. Simmons appeared to be having trouble performing, so much so that singer and guitarist Paul Stanley briefly stopped the concert to address the situation.

Stanely told the crowd, “Hold on, hold on.” Then he explained, “We know how much you love Gene, and he’s obviously sick. We’re gonna have to stop to take care of him, because we love him, right? Let’s give Gene a really loud, ‘Gene!’ One, two, three — Gene!”

The crowd shouted “Gene” as directed.

Later, Simmons returned to the stage to perform, but he finished the concert while sitting in a chair.

KISS had previously announced a farewell tour called the End of the Road Tour with the final concerts set for New York City at Madison Square Garden on December 1st and 2nd.

In July 2022, Simmons commented on the idea of retiring when he did an interview for Chaoszine. He said, “We don’t know. We’ve never retired before. This is our first time. It’s like painting a painting or writing a book. When somebody says, ‘When is it gonna be finished?’ You’re in the middle of it; you don’t know.”

Do you think KISS will continue to perform despite Simmons health situation at a recent concert?
