Russell Brand Declares “Serious Criminal Allegations” Are False

Russell Brand recently posted a video on social media where he explained that he was posting a video that was not typical for his channel. He explained that most of his videos are about “the news,” and in this case, he stated, “I am the news.”

Brand continued by explaining that he received two “extremely disturbing” communications, one in the form of a letter and the other in the form of an email. One of the communications was from a TV company and the other was from a newspaper. He explained that both communications listed a variety of “attacks” as well as “stupid stuff.”

The actor clarified that even though he thinks many of the items on the list are “stupid,” he claims that some of the items are “very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.”

Brand explained that when he was working in the film and TV industry he was “very promiscuous” but that every relationship was consensual. He added, “I absolutely deny” anything “criminal” that he is being accused with. He is suspicious that the claims about him are part of some sort of bigger agenda.

Then Brand reiterated, “What I refute are these very, very serious criminal allegations.” He added, “It’s worth mentioning that there are witnesses whose evidence directly contradicts that these two mainstream media outlets are trying to construct.” He called the allegations “a coordinated attack.”

Brand held back from giving details about what was in the communications from the media outlets, but he explained, “I feel like I’m being attacked, and plainly they’re working very closely together.”

You can watch Brand’s video in which he denies any wrongdoing in the video below.

So, what is Brand accused of? According to the BBC, Brand is accused of rape, sexual misconduct, including while at work, emotional abuse and sexual assault. There are a total of four women who have come forward to make these claims against Brand. One claims Brand raped her, and the other three claim Brand sexually assaulted them, one of which was only 16 years old at the time.

Do you believe Brand, or do you believe the claims against Brand?
