Students Shocked to Find Who The Real-Life ‘Elf On The Shelf’ Was

If you have children in elementary school or younger, and if you celebrate Christmas, chances are you have an elf in your house. We’re talking about a small children’s toy dressed in red with a pointy hat. We tell our children this elf is real and reports back to Santa about whether they’re good or not.

Our parents are lucky they didn’t have an “Elf on the Shelf” to move around every night. Although the concept was created in the 1970s, it didn’t start gaining popularity until 2005 when the book “The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition” was published. Children get to name their elf, but they can’t touch it.

The game is that the elf supposedly moves to a new location at night while the children are sleeping, and sometimes the elf creates mischief. When the children wake up, they have fun searching for the elf’s new location and seeing what their elf is up to. For parents, this can end up being a lot of work, but many claim it’s worth it for the joy it brings their children.

If you think moving an elf around the house every night is exhausting, imagine dressing up as a real-life “Elf on the Shelf” every day and hiding in a different location. That’s exactly what one school principal has been doing at the elementary school where she works.

Beth Hoeing is the principal at Southwestern Elementary School in Indiana. In two separate TikTok videos (part 1 and part 2), Hoeing can be seen dressed exactly like “The Elf on the Shelf.” Not only that, but she also acts like a mischievous elf.

Every day, students discover Hoeing in a different location at the school, and she is always in a weird predicament, just like the toy elf. For example, in the first video, she can be seen duct taped to the wall and wrapping a coworker with wrapping paper.

In a second video, we see Hoeing in even more strange yet mischievous elf-like scenarios such as sitting on top of the school pretending that she’s fishing and sitting in a tiny car in the hallway pretending that she’s racing other tiny cars.

We can only imagine how much fun the principal’s antics must be for the children, but we know for a fact that these videos have been bringing holiday joy to all who see them. Many people have commented on the videos sharing what a great idea this is and what an amazing person this principal is. For example, one comment reads, “This amazing!!!!! Bringing the magic of Xmas which we all need!”

Another person wrote, “The definition of I love my job.”

Another viewer commented, “omg we need more principals like this.”
