The British royal family has had their fair share of negative headlines over the past few years. From Prince Harry and Meghan Markle renouncing their roles as senior members of the royal family to Prince Andrew’s scandal with Jeffrey Epstein, the family’s image has definitely been tarnished.

Then there are the health issues the royal family has been and is facing. Prince Phillip and Queen Elizabeth both died. Then, not long after taking the throne and being crowed King, King Charles announced that he was battling cancer. Meanwhile, Princess Catherine Middleton had her own cancer battle.

While the Princess seems to have made a full recovery, the same can’t be said for the King, and that means his eldest son, Prince William, who is next in line for the throne, has to step up and fulfill some of his father’s duties.

A royal insider who spoke to In Touch makes it sound as if William isn’t just fulfilling the duties but aggressively trying to do everything he can to clean up the royal family’s tarnished image and prepare for his turn as King. In fact, the source described William as “seizing the opportunity,” and that he is making “decisions that he feels will benefit the Crown in the long run.”

That means Harry, Meghan and Andrew are no longer welcome as members of the royal family, and anyone who disagrees with William about his polices better watch out. The source shared, “It’s no secret that anyone who pushes back against him will be swiftly shown the door.” The source continued, “He’s not willing to take any nonsense and the word is he’s already on his way to being the toughest ruler the family has ever seen.”

Besides attempting to separate the royal family from former royals who might make them look bad, William is also concerned about cost-cutting. The source explained, “He wants expenses to be monitored closely, and any fat trimmed straight away.”

The source added, “He doesn’t want there to be any sense that special perks are being handed out to the Royals. He’s all about the environment, so he’s pushing hard to be front and center in that respect and has put out this edict that the rest of the family needs to get on board with being as green as possible. Private flights and that sort of thing are being frowned on.”
