Some People Now Swear By The ‘Potatoes In Socks’ Flu Remedy

As a parent, there’s nothing more stressful than when your child isn’t feeling well. Parents would do anything they can to help their children feel better.

We’re in the middle of cold and flu season, and that means that many children are suffering from fevers, fatigue and other uncomfortable symptoms like coughing, and sneezing.

Some people are swearing that there’s a potato hack that can help you and your children recover from illness quickly and easily. This hack involves something that you probably already have in your home right now. Go to the kitchen and get a potato. That’s right, a potato.

Here’s how the hack works. Before you go to sleep at night, you’re supposed to cut the potato into slices and put one slice on the bottom of each foot. Put socks over your feet to hold the potato slices in place. By the next day, you might feel a lot better, but you also might be grossed out by what the potato slices in your socks look like after supposedly removing toxins from your body while you sleep.

This hack has been gaining popularity on TikTok with many people trying it and weighing in on whether or not it really works. Here’s a TikTok that shows exactly how to do that hack. Just wait until you see what the potato slices look like afterwards!

You might be skeptical if this hack really works or not. After all, potatoes in the socks? It sounds pretty weird.

Some people have been trying this hack for themselves and posting the results on TikTok. Here’s what @isabelle.lux had to say.

@isabelle.luxWhat came out of my body last night. Tried to put potatoes in my socks and it’s thecraziest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Is this a detox? Has anyone heard of this cold remedy?♬ original sound – Isabelle Lux ⚡️ Skincare

Meanwhile, TikTok user @a.l.i.c.i.a_n.o.r.t.h tried the hack and had her kids try the hack. Now, she completely believes this home remedy really works.

Not everyone is on board with this potato in socks home remedy though. One pediatrician turned to TikTok to share exactly why this hack is not the remedy some people claim it is.

Are you going to try the potatoes in socks home remedy? Do you think it might really work, or, like the pediatrician in the video above, do you think that people who claim it’s successful happened to use the remedy the night before they would’ve started feeling better anyway?
