The optical illusion, which has been circling and gaining popularity on Reddit, allows people to see either a dog or two cats first. While you might see both, it’s most important to note which one you see first.

Do you see the dog first? You’re probably more into canines. See the shadow of the two cats? You’re likely more of a feline kind of person. Additionally, not only is it interesting to know what kind of animal you might favor over the other, but apparently, the type of animal says a lot about you.

So, if you see a dog first? You’re an optimistic, positive, easy-to-get-along-with extrovert. “According to psychologists, people who favor dogs are more likely to be loyal and friendly, playful, easy to get on with and often outgoing too,” stated Jackpotjoy, the creator of the image. “They typically like to socialize with loved ones and enjoy companionship. They are also more likely to be protective in their relationships and very loving. It is said that they can get lonely if they don’t have company, but they do tend to look on the bright side of things.”

And if you see the two cats? You’re the opposite of a dog person. “In contrast, people who prefer cats are said to be more goal-oriented and motivated. They’re more likely to enjoy their own company—and be introverted—or enjoy being in independent,” Jackpotjoy said. “Cat people may also be attention-seeking at times but can be born leaders who are creative and always on the lookout for the next opportunity.”

Dogs and cats are the two most popular pets for Americans, with dogs ranking just slightly higher. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), 48.3 million American households had a dog in 2017-2018, and 31.9 million households had a cat.
