New Details Emerge Regarding Naomi Judd, Including A Note And Cause Of Death Confirmed By Autopsy
Shortly after singer Naomi Judd took her own life, her daughter, Ashley Judd, did an interview with Good Morning America’s Diane Sawyer. Ashley explained that she felt it was “way too soon” to be talking publicly about her mother’s death; however, she and her sister, Wynonna Judd, and her step father felt it was important to address Naomi’s death publicly “before things about the 30th of April became public without our control. Whether it’s the autopsy or the exact manner of her death.”
During the interview, Ashley shared that her mother “used a firearm” to end her life and that she was the one who found her mother after her death.
Now, new details have emerged including the autopsy report from the medical examiner’s office in Nashville which reveals that a note was found next to Naomi’s body. Watch the video below for more details about Naomi’s battle with mental health and what the autopsy report revealed about her death.
According to the autopsy report, Naomi died from just one gunshot would to the head. A toxicology report also found that she had multiple drugs in her body when she died.
The autopsy report revealed that Naomi wrote a suicide note which was found next to her body. What was written in Naomi’s suicide note has not been released to the public.
The autopsy report explained, “She had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and was transported to Williamson Medical Center where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Per family, the decedent has had prior suicidal ideations and recent life stressors. A weapon and a note with suicidal connotations were found near the decedent at the scene.” The report added that the gunshot “perforated through the right side of the scalp and entered the skull through an entrance-type gunshot wound.’
Naomi was 76 years old when she died.
