Actress Shannen Doherty has had a string of bad news over the past few years. In 2015, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It seemed that she had beat the cancer, and she entered remission, but the cancer eventually came back. In 2020, she shared the news with fans that she had been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.

Cancer hasn’t been easy or pretty for Doherty, and she has made a point of sharing the good and the bad with her fans. Her third husband, Kurt Iswarienko, was by her side through it all. She once told reporters, “My husband says that you would never know that I have cancer.” She continued, “I never really complain. I don’t really talk about it. It’s part of life at this point.”

In one post on Instagram from 2021, Doherty shared two pictures of the not so good parts of cancer. In one picture, she has a nose bleed and a bald head. In the other picture, she wears Cookie Monster pajamas and has an eye mask over her eyes as she tries to rest. She wrote in the caption, “I cheered myself up by putting on funny pajamas that my friend Kristy gave me. Did they actually cheer me up? Yes!! Lol. I looked ridiculous and in that ridiculousness, I was able to laugh at myself. Finding humor helped get me thru what seemed impossible. I hope we all find humor in the impossible.”

The good news is that Doherty seems to be doing well as far as cancer is concerned. Now, it’s her love life that is in trouble.

On Friday April 21, 2023, Doherty shared a post on Instagram that seemed ominous. It reads, “The only people who deserve to be in your life are the ones who treat you with love, kindness and total respect.”

One day later, TMZ broke the news that Doherty and Iswarienko have been separated since January 2022. The couple, who got married in 2011, has decided to end their relationship. According to Doherty’s representative, Leslie Sloane, “Divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted.” Sloane explained, “Unfortunately, she felt she was left with no other option.” Sloane also mentioned that Iswarienko’s agent, Collier Grimm, was “intimately involved” with the reason for the divorce.

Doherty is requesting spousal support. It does not appear that there was a prenup.

Iswarienko is Doherty’s third husband. She was previously married to Ashley Hamilton and later to Rick Salomon.
