After Richard Simmons fell in the bathroom on Friday evening, his housekeeper encouraged the fitness star to go immediately to the doctor. Simmons declined, saying he wanted to be home on his birthday, per reports from TMZ.

Richard had talked about being dizzy prior to the fall, and she suggested going to see the doctor to get checked out. He said; perhaps, he would go for a doctor visit on Saturday, then she helped get him back in his bed.

At about 10 a.m Saturday morning, Simmons was found unresponsive, on the floor, close to his bed.

A source told TMZ that Simmons did not show any obvious signs of distress such as bumps, bleeding and bruises. Police came and pronounced Simmons dead at the scene. No signs of foul play were found. Simmons’ cause of death is still pending. His autopsy has been done, and his toxicology test results are still pending.
