Meghan Trainor has revealed that she used the weight loss drug Mounjaro to help her get skinny, following widespread attention over her recent transformation. The 31-year-old singer shared the news in an Instagram post featuring photos from Billboard’s Women in Music Awards in Los Angeles, where she was celebrated as a hitmaker. While she expressed gratitude for the recognition, Trainor also admitted feeling somewhat disappointed that much of the attention centered on her appearance rather than her music, passion, or the ten years of dedication that led to this moment.

The singer and mom of two sons—Riley, 4, and Barry, 1—with husband Daryl Sabara, says she knows she doesn’t look like she did a decade ago but feels she’s now the healthiest and strongest she’s ever been. Fans started speculating about her slim new look last month after she posted a photo in a miniskirt and white T-shirt, with many guessing she was using Ozempic. On Monday, Trainor clarified she’s actually been using Mounjaro, a drug similar to Ozempic that’s approved to treat Type 2 diabetes and was cleared by the FDA for weight loss in 2023.

Ahead of the Billboard Women in Music Awards, she hinted to Entertainment Tonight that “science” helped her transformation. Trainor has spoken openly about her health journey. In 2022, she shared that she had lost 60 pounds after reaching her heaviest weight following Riley’s birth. She also revealed earlier this year that she had breast augmentation after having kids, adopting a healthier lifestyle, and losing weight.
