Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Priscilla Presley and the king of rock ‘n roll, Elvis Presley, was rushed to the hospital yesterday, Thursday January 12, 2023, due to cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, she ended up dying at the hospital later that day. She was only 54 years old.

Lisa Marie is survived by her mother and her three daughters, Riley Keough, 33, and twins Finley and Harper Lockwood, both 14. Her son, Benjamin, committed suicide in 2020, and Lisa Marie had been grieving ever since.

In a statement to CNN, the Presley family explained, “Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”

Just two days before her death, Lisa Marie and Priscilla both attended the Golden Globe awards at the Beverly Hilton where Austin Butler took home the award for best performance by a movie actor for his portrayal of Elvis in the 2022 film “Elvis.”

Lisa Marie’s parents got divorced when she was just 4 years old, and Elvis died when she was just 9 years old. She once described her mental state growing up as “self-destructive.” Her mother put her in several private schools and boarding schools due to her behavior and drug use.

Later in life, Lisa Marie launched her own music career, releasing her first album in 2003. Around that time, she told Larry King that she “had to stop being worried” about being compared to her father or she never would have been able to complete the album.

Lisa Marie was married four times. Her first husband was Danny Keough, and they were married from 1988 to 1994. They had two children together, Riley and Benjamin. Just three weeks after her divorce, she married Michael Jackson, but they later divorced in 1996.

In 2002, she married actor Nicholas Cage, but that marriage only lasted three months; however, the divorce wasn’t finalized until 2004. Her fourth and final marriage was to Michael Lockwood. They had twin daughters, Finely and Harper. That marriage didn’t last either, and they divorced in 2016.

Reportedly, Lisa Marie was on good terms with her first ex-husband, and the two had actually been living together for awhile. He took the kids to school yesterday morning, and when he returned, the housekeeper had found Lisa Marie unresponsive. He performed CPR on her while waiting for the paramedics to arrive.

Upon hearing the news of Lisa Marie’s death, Nicholas Cage released a statement through his manager that explains, “This is devastating news. Lisa had the greatest laugh of anyone I ever met. She lit up every room, and I am heartbroken.” He added, “I find some solace believing she is reunited with her son Benjamin.”
