Lisa Marie Released A Beautiful, Moving Duet With Her Father

Elvis Presley

Elvis Presley‘s music was truly legendary. He had a voice like no one else. As soon as you hear the first few words of a song, it’s obvious that Elvis is singing.

While not everyone inherits their parents’ talents, many relatives of famous actors and musicians are blessed with similar talents. In some cases they may not be as famous as their talented relatives, but that does not mean that they’re not talented.

Lisa Marie Presley is Elvis’s one and only daughter. She may not be a legend like her father, but she is still a talented singer. We can only imagine how hard it must be to live all these years without her father by her side. She was only 9 years old when her father died.

Elvis never got to see his daughter grow up, but that didn’t stop her from finding a way to sing a duet with her father as if he were by her side. Thanks to modern technology, Lisa Marie was able to sing one of her father’s favorite gospel songs with him, and the video is just a moving as the lyrics.

The song above is the title track on the album by the same name which was released in 2018. Every song on the album is a duet with someone Elvis knew during his lifetime. Other collaborators include Cissy Houston and Darlene Love.

In the album’s liner notes, Lisa Marie explained what it was like to record a duet with her late father. She wrote, “It was a very powerful and moving experience to sing with my father. The lyrics speak to me and touch my soul. I’m certain that the lyrics spoke to my father in much the same way.” She added that gospel music “was his favorite genre – no question about it.” She continued, “He seemed to be at his most passionate, and at peace while singing gospel. He would truly come alive – whether he was singing just for himself and me at home, or on stage in front of thousands of fans.”
