In February 2024, a music producer named Rodney Jones, who is also known as Lil Rod, filed a lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs, accusing him of sexual assault. Now, Jones has modified the lawsuit and is also accusing actor Cuba Gooding Jr. of sexual assault.

According to the lawsuit, Jones claims that Gooding groped him while they were on a yacht that Combs rented. PEOPLE reports that in the lawsuit, Jones explains that Gooding “began touching, groping, and fondling [his] legs, his upper inner thighs near his groin, the small of his back near his buttocks, and his shoulders” while they were on the yacht in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Jones also claims that he “believes” Combs was “grooming him to pass him off to his friends.” He explained that when Combs introduced him to Gooding, he “suggested that Cuba ‘get to know’ Mr. Jones better.”

During this incident, which happened in January 2023, Jones claims that he felt “extremely uncomfortable.” He also claims that he “rejected” Gooding’s “advances.” He also claims that Gooding only stopped when “Mr. Jones forcibly pushed him away.”

Back in February, when Jones first filed the lawsuit, Shawn Holley, Combs’ lawyer, believes that Jones’ claims are “complete lies.” In a statement, Holley explained, “Lil Rod is nothing more than a liar who filed a $30 million lawsuit shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday. His reckless name-dropping about events that are pure fiction and simply did not happen is nothing more than a transparent attempt to garner headlines.”

The statement continues, “We have overwhelming, indisputable proof that his claims are complete lies.” Holley added, “Our attempts to share this proof with Mr. Jones’ attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, have been ignored, as Mr. Blackburn refuses to return our calls. We will address these outlandish allegations in court and take all appropriate action against those who make them.”

This is not the first time that Gooding has been accused of sexual assault. In April 2022, a woman claimed that Gooding forcibly touched her while at a rooftop bar in New York City in 2018. Gooding pled guilty. Then in June 2023, he settled a lawsuit where a woman accused him of raping her twice in 2013.
