Kate Gosselin Latest Reveal
Kate Gosslein, Jon Gosslein and their 8 children became household names due to the reality TV show about their lives. Since then, and partly due to disagreements about whether or not to continue being stars of a reality TV show, the couple split up, and the children did too.
Of the children, only two of them decided to live with Jon. His son Collin and his daughter Hannah both chose to reside with him. The rest of the children stayed with Kate. According to Jon, he has no contact with his other six children, and he’s not even sure why that is. Meanwhile, according to Jon, Kate hasn’t even spoken one word to her son Collin since he was in 6th grade.
Kate and Jon both admit that Collin was hospitalized when he was 12 years old. The recent controversy hinges on whether or not he needed to be hospitalized and his current mental health.
Jon, Collin and Hannah also spoke up on Vice TV’s “The Dark Side of the 2000’s.” During the TV episode, Jon claimed he spent $1 million to get Collin out of the treatment center, and he also claimed Collin has “no diagnosis.”
Since the episode, Collin’s older sister Mady turned to social media to share her side of the story. She claimed that Collin “has physically threatened me and every member of my immediate family.” She wrote that Collin “has exhibited hateful and even violent behavior toward others based on their racial identity, gender identity, or religious beliefs.”
In response, Kate chose to post on social media in defense of her daughter’s post. She claimed that “Collin remains a very troubled young man” and that the reason she and his siblings are not involved in his life is because of “his history of unpredictable behavior and violent tendencies towards us.”
Meanwhile, Jon defended his son while discrediting his ex-wife by telling PEOPLE, “Do not forget that a judge awarded temporary sole legal and physical custody of Collin to his father in 2018. Kate never even showed up to court and never spoke to Collin ever again.” Jon added, “Collin is training to be a Marine in order to serve his country and is unable to respond to his mother’s callous lies.”
