‘Jeopardy’ Contestant Misses Taylor Swift Question, You Will Be Laughing At What Happens Next

Contestants on the game show “Jeopardy!” are definitely smart. They know lots of facts and are able to recall them in split seconds. However, are the contestants on the game show “Jeopardy!” up to date on pop culture?

TODAY reports that on an episode of “Jeopardy!” contestants were left puzzled when they were faced with a question that many viewers at home immediately knew how to answer. This wasn’t just any ordinary “Jeopardy” episode either. It was a “Tournament of Champions” show where the best of the best compete against each other.

The question that tripped up the “Jeopardy!” “champions” had to do with the Taylor Swift song “15.” All three of the contestants answered the question incorrectly.

The question was under the category “Songs of Youth.” Contestant Troy Meyer was the first one to answer the question incorrectly. Then, Yogesh Raut tried to answer the question. The third contestant, Ben Chan, didn’t even try to make a guess.

What was the question? The contestants were given this clue “Inspired by her bestie, Tay Tay sang when ‘somebody tells you they love you’ at this title age ‘you’re gonna believe them.” Obviously Swift’s fans immediately knew that the answer was “15.” This was not common knowledge to the “Jeopardy!” contestants.

Meyer guessed that the answer was 17, and Raut was even more wrong with a guess of 22 years old. Again, Chan didn’t even attempt a guess.

It wasn’t until after host Ken Jennings revealed the correct answer that contestant Meyer understand how big of an error they made. He said, “We’re gonna get killed for that.”

He wasn’t wrong. Fans took to social media to share their thoughts about the contestants’ incorrect answers.

One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “I can’t believe the one triple stumper this episode was about Taylor Swift.”

Another fan proudly announced on X, “A Taylor swift jeopardy question that none of the contestants got right but I did!!!”
