Jamie Foxx Sad News Update
On Tuesday April 11, 2023, actor Jamie Foxx experienced what his family called “a medical complication.” Foxx’s 29 year old daughter, Corrine Foxx, announced the sad news by posting a statement from the family on her Instagram account.
Thankfully, Foxx’s condition improved. Corrine explained that “due to quick action and great care” her father was “on his way to recovery.”
Foxx was in Atlanta at the time of the “complication.” He was in the process of filming a Netflix movie called “Back in Action.” He was taken to a nearby hospital and weeks went by while he remained silent about his health scare.
Fans have understandably been concerned about Foxx’s health and wellbeing. They took to the comments section of Foxx’s most recent Instagram posts to share prayers and well wishes. For example, one of Foxx’s followers wrote, “Praying for a recovered bounce back, Jamie. When 2 or 3 are gathered in HIS name – HE is in the midst! I & many others are praying without ceasing!”
Another follower shared, “Father God, we are ALL praying for covering and restored health for our brother Jamie! Grantor of healing and miraculous restoration we call on you now!”
In response to the outpouring of love from fans and followers, Foxx has finally broken his silence. On May 3rd, he posted on Instagram, “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed.”

Fans seem somewhat relieved to finally hear from Foxx. One comment reads, “God got you brother! We are so grateful that your recovery is happening! You’re so important to our culture and our world.”
Another follower wrote, “ur SO loved Jamie! lots of prayers going up.”
Foxx has not been seen on set since April 10th, the day before his “medical complication,” but that does not mean that production has entirely stopped. The production has used a stunt double and a photo double in some shots of the film.
PEOPLE reports that multiple sources have shared that Foxx is recovering. On April 21, one source said, “He’s okay, thank God. He’s still in the hospital and doctors are running tests but he’s awake and alert. They’re keeping him under observation.”
The exact “medical complication” has not been revealed publicly. It is also unclear when Foxx will be released from the hospital and when he will be able to return to set.
