Bruce Glover, known for his memorable roles in Chinatown and Diamonds Are Forever, has passed away at the age of 92. A representative for his son, actor Crispin Glover, confirmed to PEOPLE that the veteran performer died of natural causes on March 12.
Crispin, 60, honored his father in a heartfelt Instagram post on Saturday, March 29, writing: “Bruce Herbert Glover — May 2, 1932 to March 12, 2025.”
He accompanied the tribute with a black-and-white photograph of Bruce as a young serviceman, along with several snapshots.

Bruce Glover was an American character actor best known for his roles in classic films such as Diamonds Are Forever (1971) and Chinatown (1974). Born on May 2, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, Glover served in the U.S. Army before launching his acting career in the 1950s. He gained widespread recognition playing the eccentric assassin Mr. Wint opposite Putter Smith’s Mr. Kidd in the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever. His unique screen presence and flair for portraying offbeat and often menacing characters made him a standout actor.

His versatility is further evident in films like Willard (2003), where he starred as a social misfit commanding an army of rats, and in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland (2010), playing the Knave of Hearts.
Beyond acting, Glover is a filmmaker and author. He founded Volcanic Eruptions, a company that publishes his books and produces his films, including the avant-garde projects What Is It? (2005) and It Is Fine! Everything Is Fine. (2007).
In recent years, Glover appeared as Mr. World in the television series American Gods (2017–2021) and featured in Netflix’s Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities (2022).
