Insults Harry Lashed Out At The Queen Consort Labeled As Unforgivable
Will Prince Harry ever make amends with the royal family? The chances aren’t looking good, especially when it comes to his father, King Charles.
Since relinquishing his role as a senior member of the royal family and moving to California with his wife, Meghan Markle, Harry has dropped numerous bombshells about his family, both on TV and in his book “Spare.” Some of those bombshells include jabs at his step-mother, the Queen Consort, Camilla.
According to royal author Christopher Andersen, King Charles has not forgiven his son for the negative comments he has made about Camilla in his book. He told FOX News, “I think people have to realize that the one thing that Charles finds unforgivable is criticism of Camilla.”
Andersen continued, “There’s no criticism of Camilla, and unfortunately for Harry… Harry said some pretty devastating things about her. He made it clear that he felt she was… the villain in the piece. I think that still bothers the king, and I don’t know that it will be easy for him to [forgive]. I don’t think they’ll ever forgive Harry for that.”
Andersen summed up his feelings about the situation by stating that Harry is “on his own.”
Wondering what Harry said about Camilla? In an interview promoting “Spare,” he called her “the devil.” In the book itself, he explained, “I had complex feelings about gaining a stepparent who, I believed, had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar.” He also called her “dangerous” and believed that the marrying his father could be a good thing if it made her happy. He shared, “Maybe she’d be less dangerous if she was happy?”
King Charles may never forgive Harry for his comments about Camilla, and according to Andersen, Harry hasn’t changed his mind about how he feels about Camilla, but he’s not the only member of the royal family that dislikes her.
According to Andersen, Harry and his brother, Prince William, both tried to talk their father out of marrying Camilla. Andersen explained, “The king pressured the queen for so long, and in so many ways, to accept Camilla… We have to remember, he promised he would never make Camilla queen. And I think that’s one thing that still bothers both Harry and William.
Andersen continued, “It’s unfortunate that Charles… promised he would never make Camilla queen. [He felt] that the way the people felt about Diana, they would never allow him to crown her by his side. But that’s exactly what he did. So, in that sense, I think both William and Harry feel a sense of betrayal to this day on that issue.”
