Especially during quarantine, we’ve been having items delivered whenever possible so that we can avoid going to stores as much as possible, but let’s be honest, we’ve always had quite a few Amazon packages delivered to our door. 

Imagine waiting patiently for a package to arrive, getting a notification that it has been delivered and going to your door to find that there aren’t any boxes or packages outside. Have you been there? Unfortunately, a lot of people have become victims of thieves stealing packages that were delivered to their door.

Unless you have a security camera to catch the thief in action (and even then), there’s very little you can do about it except perhaps trying out Amazon locker instead of having that box delivered to your door.

One victim came up with an interesting way to deter thieves. After numerous packages were stolen, this family turned the tables on the thief. They left a box outside the door that looked like an unopened Amazon box. It’s a generous size too, so you would assume that something expensive might be inside.

What was really inside was something disgusting – dirty diapers – a whole lot of dirty diapers. If you have a baby or if you have ever taken care of a baby, you know just how bad a dirty diaper can smell. Oh, how we would love to know how the thief reacted when he or she opened this package to discover that the trick was on him or her!

Attached to the bag of dirty diapers was a hand-written note reading, “Stop Stealing wit cho broke ass!”

Reddit user TheLastDeBarge shared the pictures on Reddit, and many thousands of users have already commented and upvoted the post.

One Reddit user offered advice to make the next fake package even more effective.

“To be truly effective on your next attempt cut the bottom of the box so you can’t see the tape job. I love it. Thieves deserve everything coming to them.”

Another Reddit user suggested installing a very obvious security camera with a sign.

“Get a security camera. Don’t be like most Americans and simply install a security camera. This will only give you endless videos of people stealing. Put a huge obvious security camera in use, sign up at eye level where the packages get put. I had a camera installed, but the thefts finally stopped after the sign went up. Criminals don’t want to be filmed.”
