Gossip Girl star and musician Taylor Momsen posted a wild and scary situation she encountered this weekend while she was performing in Spain.

A bat landed on her leg while Taylor and her band were in the middle of a  concert. Fans tried to get Taylor’s attention while they watched the horrific incident.

In one video of the event, Momsen asked her stage crew for help when she notices the bat is on her leg. Then, some fans run to the stage to help and then the bat flies away. The video also shows the star having her leg treated with shots.

She jokes that she is “really a witch” because this all occurred during a performance of her song called “Witches Burn.” In reference to the bat, she said, “He was cute, but yes he bit me.”

Taylor will have to be treated with rabies shots for two more weeks. She now has a new nickname #batgirl courtesy of the local news.

According to The Mayo Clinic,” Rabies is a deadly virus spread to people from the saliva of infected animals. The rabies virus is usually transmitted through a bite.Animals most likely to transmit rabies in the United States include bats, coyotes, foxes, raccoons and skunks. In developing countries, stray dogs are the most likely to spread rabies to people.Once a person begins showing signs and symptoms of rabies, the disease nearly always causes death. For this reason, anyone who may have a risk of contracting rabies should receive rabies vaccinations for protection.”
