Goldie Hawn And Kurt Russell Dress Up As Royalty For Granddaughter’s Birthday

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have seven grandchildren, so they know a thing or two about being star grandparents. One of those grandchildren is Rani, Kate Hudson’s daughter, who they went all out for on her fourth birthday.

The couple, who have been together for 39 years, decided to make Rani’s fourth birthday as memorable as possible by dressing up as a king and queen, with Rani in a darling blue princess dress. The three took an adorable photo together, which was posted on Goldie’s Instagram.

“Happy 4th birthday our precious Rani Rose you are the real queen!” Hawn captioned the post. “I’ll take Lady in waiting everyday as long as the prince is always beside me! WE LOVE YOU!!!”

The memories will be priceless for little Rani!

Hudson shares Rani with fiancé Danny Fujikawa. She shares her son, Ryder, 18 with Chris Robinson, and Bingham, 11, with Matt Bellamy. Kate’s brother, Oliver, also has three children: Wilder, 15, Bodhi, 12, and Rio, 9. And lastly, their son, Wyatt Russell, welcomed his first child, Buddy, this year.

Hawn and Russell have been in a relationship together since Valentine’s Day 1983, though they first met filming “The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band” in the 1960s. The two weren’t interested in each other at first, mostly because of their large age gap. Though she’s only five years older than he is, the age gap seems significant when they were in their 20s.

Though the two were each married prior to becoming a couple, they believe that fate is really what brought them together.

“When I met Goldie, I was at a time in my life where I was definitely gonna put my worst foot forward when it came to any kind of relationship,” Russell said.. “I put my worst foot forward, and if you can handle that, then maybe there’s a chance of some reality there of us being together.”

So is not getting legally married the secret to their long-lasting relationship? They two say no—that there really is no secret to love.

“There’s no secret,” they said. Hawn went on to add, “It’s that you both want to be together. I mean, you’ve got to want to be together.”

Well, they certainly do. As the saying goes…those who dress up together for their granddaughter’s birthday stays together, right?

What do you think of Hawn and Russell’s way of celebrating their granddaughter’s fourth birthday? What’s the most special way you’ve ever tried to celebrate a child’s birthday?
