‘Garlic Milk’ May Give You Much Needed Relief from Sciatica And Back Pain

While pain of any kind is annoying at best, it can be debilitating at worst. Back pain and sciatica are no exceptions.

Back pain is actually the number 1 reason people miss work. Half of working Americans say they have back pain at least once a year. Up to 80% of Americans will have back pain at some point in their lives, and back pain doesn’t discriminate by age; it can affect young and old alike.

According to the Mayo Clinic, one type of back pain, sciatica, is caused when “a herniated disk, bone spur on the spine or narrowing of the spine (spinal stenosis) compresses part of the nerve.”

While mild cases of sciatica eventually go away, worse cases can require surgery. At TipHero, we love finding natural ways to relieve common problems like back pain. Sometimes sleeping in a certain position can help, and there are certainly preventative measures you can take, like maintaining good posture when you sit and not smoking; however, we’ve found a new home remedy.

If you suffer from sciatica and don’t want to end up having surgery, you can find relief in a somewhat unusual way.

Drink garlic milk.

Yes, really.

Garlic has long been known to have many healthy benefits. The famous ancient Greek physician Hippocrates actually used to prescribe garlic.

Garlic has been proven to boost the immune system, reduce blood pressure, improve cholesterol levels, prevent Alzheimer’s Disease, improve bone health, and the list goes on.

Milk also has a lot of health benefits including strengthening bones, maintaining a healthy blood pressure and maintaining a healthy immune system.

Add these two power-packed ingredients together, and you have an epic, natural remedy on your hands.

Making garlic milk is super easy too. You just need 4 cloves of crushed garlic, about a cup of milk and honey to taste.

Put the garlic and milk in a saucepan and slowly bring it to a boil over low heat. Stir the mixture frequently to make sure it doesn’t burn. Once the mixture boils, remove it from the heat, let it cool and add honey to sweeten it to your liking.

Since garlic is a natural blood thinner, it’s not a good idea to drink this mixture more than once a day, but one cup a day should be enough for you to experience significant pain relief.
