In 1995, Brian “Brizz” Gillis, Brad Fischetti and Rich Cronin formed a band called LFO, which stands for Lyte Funkie Ones. Later, Devin Lima joined the group which is known for songs like their 1999 hit “Summer Girls.”

Yesterday, Fischetti announced the sad news that Gillis has died at the age of 47. That makes Fischetti the last living member of the band. Lima died in 2018 of adrenal cancer. He was only 41 at the time. Cronin died even younger. He was only 36 when he lost his life to a stroke while also battling leukemia.

Fischetti shared that he does not know the details of how or why Gillis died. He added that even if he did know the details he didn’t feel it would be right for him to be the one to share them. Instead, he shared how Gillis’s life and death impacted his life.

Fishcetti wrote, “I am really struggling to process this tragic loss.” He added that if it weren’t for Gillis’ “hard work and dedication in the early days of LFO, the first two chapters, the LFO you came to know and (hopefully) love would not exist.”

He went on to share that he “learned a lot” by working with Gillis such as “the business of music and how to put together and rock a show.” He added that he “prayed for Brian every day for many years. And I will continue to pray for him, for his beloved father, for his friends, his family, and those who loved him.”

He added a “hope” that Gillis, Cronin and Lima have reunited on the other side, and he ended the post by writing, “Rest easy bro. Rest easy.”
