Former ‘Days Of Our Lives’ Star And Father Of A Hollywood Icon Dies At 89

Long before actress Jennifer Aniston became a household name for portraying Rachel Green on “Friends,” her father, John Aniston, was the famous one in the family.

John started his acting career in the 1960s and ended up acting in about 3000 episodes of the soap opera “Days of Our Lives.” He first appeared on the show in 1969 portraying a character named Dr. Eric Richards. His original stint on the show was short-lived. He left after just one year to act on two other soap operas, “Love of Life” and “Search for Tomorrow,” before returning to “Days of Our Lives” as a different character, crime boss Victor Kiriakis. He portrayed that role for about 30 years, his last episode airing this year. He never retired.

Sadly, on November 11, 2022, at the age of 89, John has passed away. His famous daughter announced the news on her Instagram account. Jennifer shared a series of photos, including photos of herself with her dad through the years. She also included a touching message in the caption writing, “Sweet papa…⁣ John Anthony Aniston ⁣You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace – and without pain.” Jennifer continued, “I’ll love you till the end of time” along with a broken heart emoji. She ended the caption by writing, “Don’t forget to visit.”
