Sampras explained that his wife, Bridgette, received the ovarian cancer diagnosis in December. Since then, she has undergone major surgery, endured chemotherapy, and is currently undergoing targeted maintenance therapy. The tennis champion emphasized the resilience and strength his wife has displayed during this challenging time.

“It is hard to watch someone you love go through a challenge like this,” Sampras noted. However, he expressed his admiration for their two sons, Christian and Ryan, who have been unwavering supporters throughout this ordeal. He commented on the tremendous support provided by their sons during this trying period.

Sampras also praised Bridgette’s role as a dedicated mother and wife throughout her health battle, describing her as “an incredible mom and wife.” He highlighted her unwavering commitment to her family amid the difficulties.

The tennis legend concluded his statement with a heartfelt request for support and prayers as Bridgette continues her journey to recovery. “I have also learned that it is very hard to reach for support when something is simply too hard to talk about. With that said, I am humbly asking for good thoughts and prayers for our family as Bridgette continues to thrive on her healing journey,” Sampras said.

Bridgette Wilson-Sampras, known not only for being the wife of the tennis great but also for her acting career, starred in several popular films, including The Wedding Planner, Billy Madison, and I Know What You Did Last Summer.
