Equestrian Rider Dies At 37

British competitive horse rider has passed away on Sunday after falling during a competitive equestrian event in England, per the sport’s governing body.

Georgie Campbell had a fatal fall during her competition at the Bicton International Horse Trial in Devon, England, according to a statement by British Eventing. Georgie was 37 years old.

“Medical professionals attended immediately following her fall at fence 5b however, unfortunately, she could not be saved,” per British Eventing. Then added, “To respect the family’s privacy at this extremely difficult and sad time, no further details will be shared,”

The horse she was riding, Global Quest was checked out and no injuries were found.

Campbell, competed in 200 plus events during her career, she had six wins and represented Great Britain in the Nations Cup series.

 

She leaves behind husband, Jesse Campbell. Her husband also competes in horse riding. He competed on behalf of New Zealand three years ago at the Tokyo Olympics.
