The year 2023 could be a pivotal one in actor Jonathan Majors‘ career. He was already a star, but his star status is escalating. Not only was he a presenter at the Oscars, but he also has two big movies coming out this year. He stars in both “Creed III” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” In addition, the film “Magazine Dreams” is scheduled to be released in December upon being picked up by Searchlight Pictures following it’s Sundance debut.

While it seemed that the year was off to a positive start for Majors, now, there has been a sudden and unexpected incident that could change everything. Majors has been arrested.

According to the Manhattan DA’s office, on Sunday March 26, 2023, just two weeks after being a presenter at the Oscars, Majors was arraigned on several charges of assault and harassment.

Reportedly, on Saturday night, police arrested Majors due to a “domestic dispute.” An unnamed woman accused Majors of putting “his hand on her neck, causing bruising and substantial pain.” She also claimed he struck “her about the face with an open hand, causing substantial pain and a laceration behind her ear.”

Majors criminal defense lawyer Priya Chaudhry believes “all charges will be dropped imminently.” In addition, his attorney stated, “Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is provably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows.”

In addition to testimony from witnesses, there is reportedly video footage from inside the vehicle where the woman claims the incident took place. Watch the video below to learn more about why Majors was arrested and speculation at who the unnamed woman might be.

Despite the accusations, Majors is not currently behind bars. A judge decided to release Majors on his own recognizance and granted a limited order of protection.
