‘Emily in Paris’ Star Hospitalized While on Vacation

Actress Ashely Park is probably best known for her role on the TV series “Emily in Paris.” Recently, the star shared an update on Instagram that was very personal and that she “hesitated to share.”

Park posted a series of photos of herself in the hospital. In the caption, she explained what happened. She started by describing herself as feeling “grateful.” Then, she went into the details of her scary life-threatening health experience.

Park wrote, “While on holiday in December into New Years, what started as tonsillitis spiraled into critical septic shock, which infected and affected several of my organs. I am grateful that my health has improved despite what we had initially been told.”

The actress shared her appreciation for the doctors and nurses who helped her recover, her family who called the insurance company for her, translators who stepped in to help her understand her doctors and nurses, and also her boyfriend, Paul Forman, who was “unconditionally by my side through all this.”

She wrote that Forman “calmed my fears and held me through ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in the ICU, scary ERs, countless scans and tests and injections, excruciating pain, and so much confusion all while we were alone on the other side of the world far from those we know. I love you Paul. More than I can ever say.”

Park shared that she is “still in the throes of recovery,” which is why she was somewhat “hesitant” to share her story. She decided to share her story anyway since “I now know I’m safely on the other side of the worst.”

She ended the post by reassuring her followers “I’m healing and I promise I’m gonna be okay.”

Lily Collins, the lead actress on “Emily in Paris,” commented on Park’s post writing, “I can hardly look at these without crying. I love you sister and I’m forever grateful you’re on the other side of this and for @peforman for your incredibly huge heart and for being there every step of the way. I cannot wait to hug you both.”
