Elton John Was Hospitalized After Fall At His Home In France

After completing his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour, John and his family have been enjoying time at their Mont Boron villa which is located outside Nice, France. John has previously referred to the home, which has a view of the Mediterranean Sea, as “the summer house.” Unfortunately, John recently had an accident while at his home. He reportedly slipped and fell.

After his “slip,” John was transported to Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco where he stayed overnight for observation. As of Monday, August 28, 2023, John is back at his home where he is in “good health.”

A statement released by a representative for John explains, “Following a slip yesterday at his home in the south of France, Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure,” The statement continues, “Following check ups, he was immediately discharged this morning and is now back at home and in good health.”

The statement did not include any details about what caused the “slip” or what treatment he had while at the hospital. Apparently, the fall was serious enough to warrant a trip to the hospital, but thankfully, it wasn’t serious enough for John to need to stay at the hospital for more than one night. He was admitted to the hospital on Sunday and released on Monday.

Back in 2021, John experienced another fall that was so serious that he decided to reschedule the rest of his tour dates for 2023. He experienced such severe hip pain at the time that he had to have surgery. Thankfully, this time his fall doesn’t sound as serious.

Besides the home in France, John, who is 76, and his husband, David Furnish, also have homes in the United States and London. The couple also has two children, 12-year-old Zachary and 10-year-old Elijah.
