Ellen Posts Special Tribute to Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss in Remembrance 2 Years After He Passed Away
Ellen DeGeneres recently shared a heartfelt tribute to her late friend and longtime collaborator, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, on the second anniversary of his tragic death. Known for his infectious energy and talent, tWitch served as a guest DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show starting in 2014 before becoming co-executive producer in 2020. He remained a beloved figure on the show until its finale in May 2022.
Reflecting on their bond, Ellen posted a photo of a serene field lined with trees, captioned: “Wherever I am I feel you with me. I love you tWitch.” This follows her previous tribute in September on what would have been his 42nd birthday, where she wrote, “Happy birthday tWitch. I miss you every day,” alongside a photo of the two embracing on set.
This marks Ellen’s second year publicly honoring tWitch’s memory. On the first anniversary of his passing in December 2023, she shared cherished moments from their time together. “There are so many memories that I have of tWitch,” she began in a touching Instagram video. She recounted how their daily post-show routine always ended with laughter, dancing, and walking arm-in-arm to her dressing room.

“I love you,” she would say as they parted, to which tWitch would reply, “Love you much.” Ellen described these moments as the heart of their friendship, adding, “I miss that.”
Stephen “tWitch” Boss tragically died by suicide at the age of 40 in December 2022, leaving fans, friends, and family in shock. Ellen emphasized how his passing serves as a stark reminder that appearances can be deceiving. “You just don’t know what people are going through,” she said. “He was a happy guy, I thought, and I was really close to him. He never shared that with me.”
Ellen expressed deep regret that tWitch hadn’t felt he could confide in those who cared for him, saying, “That is sad, that he didn’t feel like he could find a way out and share that he was struggling. Because we all would have done anything we could to help him.”

Despite the loss, Ellen highlighted how tWitch’s legacy continues to inspire and bring joy. “I miss him every single day, but I have amazing memories of him,” she concluded.
