Divorcing With The Derricos

Deon and Karen Derrico of the TLC reality series ‘Doubling Down with the Derricos’ are filing for divorce.

The show follows the lives of Deon and Karen Derrico and their fourteen children. This includes quintuplets, triplets, and two sets of twins. The series highlights the challenges and joys of raising such a large family, showing their daily routines, special events, and the dynamics of a household with multiple kids. The show provides a look into how the Derricos manage their family life, handle the logistics of raising many children, and navigate various ups and downs with their family.

The arrival of their first set of twins (12), Dallas and Denver, was the beginning of their unique parenting experience. But it was the birth of their quintuplets (10), Deniko, Dariz, Deonee, Daician, and Daiten, that set their family apart. Not long after, they welcomed another set of triplets(6), Diez, Dior, and Carter. Sadly, Carter passed away shortly after birth, a heartbreaking loss for the family. The Derricos then had another set of triplets (4) Dawsyn, De’Aren, and Dyver. They also have Derrick (13) and their eldest daughter Darian (18).

Deon and Karen were married in 2005. They filed for divorce on June 4 and it was official on June 6.

The divorce logistics for the Derrico’s ought to be interesting. The couple is splitting both legal and physical custody of their 13 minor children. Deon’s child support is $1,200 monthly and Karen is responsible for maintaining the kids medical insurance. She is planning on keeping the Derrico last name.

The future of the television series is unknown at this point. However, the final show of season 5 will air on July 2. Apparently, the tension of finding the right house puts a lot of strain on the couple’s marriage.
