Crocs Announces a ‘Free Pair for Healthcare’ Program During Coronavirus Outbreak

Healthcare workers are truly heroes in light of the COVID-19 pandemic that’s spreading across the globe. They’re risking their own health to help the health of others, and it’s only right that they deserve some kind of break—even if a small one.

That’s why Crocs is stepping up to help those on the frontline. The manufacturer has just announced a program to donate 10,000 pairs of Crocs a day to healthcare workers who are working night and day to fight against the virus and help patients recover.

Why Crocs? The shoes, known for being extremely comfortable, are made out of a rubber-like molded polymer resin, a waterproof material. Not only do they provide the proper support for people on their feet all day, but they can also be wiped clean easily—perfect for emergency room workers during a pandemic for a virus that spreads like wildfire.

“Over the past week, we have spoken to healthcare workers, their facilities and even their family and friends, and they have specifically asked for our shoes in an effort to provide ease on their feet, as well as ease of mind as they need the ability to easily clean up before they go home to their families,” said Crocs CEO Andrew Rees.

So how do healthcare workers get their free pair of Crocs? Simply visit Crocs.com. Right on their front page, you’ll see a prompt for where you can place your free order of either classic Crocs or Crocs at work. Shipping is also free!

If you get to the website and it says they’ve already met their day’s allotment of 10,000, don’t fret. Each day, Crocs will open for requests each day at noon ET and then fills orders until their daily free pair limit is filled. Just try the next day at noon, when it reopens.

As for how long Crocs will be giving away free pairs of shoes for depends on how many requests they receive during this time.

“The duration of our giveaway will depend on our level of inventory and the amount of requests we receive,” said Rees. “These workers have our deepest respect, and we are humbled to be able to answer their call and provide whatever we can to help during this unprecedented time.”

In addition to having workers order their free pair, Crocs will also be delivering some of their shipments straight to the hospitals themselves. Go, team, go.

What an awesome way for Crocs to give back during these dark times, especially since hospital workers are met with so many difficulties right now. To hear about what some of those are (besides the obvious caring for patients who are positive with COVID-19), check out the video below.
