Dr. Fauci Says That All Americans Could Have Access To a COVID-19 Vaccine by April 2021

If 2020 seems like it has been the longest, strangest year ever, you’re not alone. The coronavirus pandemic changed so many things about our lives, and things aren’t back to normal yet. Some people are counting on a vaccine to allow us to all get back to life as we knew it.

The race for a vaccine started pretty much as soon as we knew COVID-19 existed. Now, it looks like we’re really close to being able to actually get vaccinated.

Dr. Fauci shared with CNN that there is a vaccine that has proven to be 90-95% effective, and people will start to be able to get that vaccine very soon. Although nothing has been officially decided yet, Dr. Fauci predicts that the first people who will be able to get vaccinated will be healthcare workers who literally put their live at risk every day. Next, he predicts that immunocompromised individuals and senior citizens will be able to get vaccinated. Then, the vaccine will probably be offered to people who work in group settings and need to be protected, people like nursing home employees, teachers and school-aged children.

If you don’t fall into any of the above groups, you will probably be in the last group who can get the vaccine once it is available to anyone who wants it. If that’s you, and if you want to get vaccinated as soon as possible, as soon as possible will most likely be no later than the end of April. Dr. Fauci predicts that anyone who wants to get vaccinated will be able to within the first 4 months of 2021.

Dr. Fauci knows that not everyone will want to get vaccinated right away. Some people will be hesitant to accept a new vaccine for a new virus, but Dr. Fauci thinks that most people will want to be vaccinated by the third quarter of 2021.

Are you going to get vaccinated once a COVID-19 is available?
