Costco Is Now Selling a Boozy Eggnog With 13.9% ABV

If you’re a proud Costco-card holding member of the ultra-big box store, you know that bigger is better if you want to save money, and hopefully you have a big pantry to store all those goodies. Hopefully you also have a lot of hungry people to feed because bulk-size grocery items still have expiration dates, meaning, Costco-size isn’t always a good deal.

You also know that the sweet savings in the store rotate. We’ve been sad to see some of our favorite items disappear from store shelves, but we’re also always excited to see new items and the return of some of our favorite seasonal items.

This time of year, as the holidays quickly approach, we’re scanning the store shelves for Christmas decor and other festive items sure to make us merry. You could really get all of your holiday shopping done right at Costco since they have everything from clothes and shoes to toys and games plus small appliances, blankets, and so many gift baskets, especially this time of year.

One item you want to be sure to grab the next time you roll up to Costco is their Kirkland Signature eggnog. In previous years it has been labeled as Eggnog Liqueur, but his year, the label reads “Eggnog Wine Cocktail.”

We know, eggnog and wine mixed together sounds pretty unappealing, but rest assured this is the same beverage you know and love from previous years. The wording on the label is simply due to state liquor laws, and the “wine” doesn’t necessarily include any grapes.

The seasonal beverage is a hit among regular shoppers, and at only $9 for a 1.5 liter bottle, you really can’t go wrong. Tis the season, after all!

If you tend to be annoyed that store shelves get stocked with holiday goodies earlier and earlier every year, a glass of this eggnog will probably put you in brighter spirits. It has a 13.9% ABV, pretty strong for a “wine cocktail.”

If you’re a fan of eggnog but don’t have a Costco card, perhaps you want to try making your own instead. It’s not nearly as hard to make as you might think. Here’s one of our favorite recipes.

Whether you pick up your own eggnog or buy a few bottles at Costco, remember that you can do more than drink the festive beverage. Pick up an extra bottle to turn into eggnog fudge. Seriously. Get ready to be the hit of the holiday party.

Are you a fan of eggnog? Have you had Costco’s Kirkland Signature eggnog before? Will you be picking up a bottle (or a few) this year?
