CoppaFeel! Founder Has Passed Away

This Morning

Kris Hallenga, advocate of early breast screening cancer and founder of  CoppaFeel!, has died at the age of 38. CoppaFeel encourages and educates  young people to get screened for breast cancer.

Kris Hallenga became widely known for her tireless efforts in raising awareness about breast cancer, particularly among young women.Diagnosed with stage 4 terminal breast cancer at the age of 23, Kris’s life took an unexpected turn. Instead of succumbing to despair, she chose to confront her diagnosis with courage, resilience, and an unwavering determination to make a difference.

Fifteen years ago, in 2009, Kris co-founded CoppaFeel! alongside her twin sister, Maren, with the mission of educating young people about the importance of early detection and encouraging them to regularly check their breasts for any unusual changes.

Under Kris’s leadership, CoppaFeel! rapidly grew into a prominent breast cancer charity, utilizing innovative and creative approaches to engage with its audience. Kris’s own experiences served as a powerful driving force behind the organization’s campaigns, which aimed to challenge misconceptions surrounding breast cancer and empower individuals to take control of their health. Through initiatives such as “Grab Life By The Boobs” and “Check ‘Em Tuesday,” CoppaFeel! successfully reached millions of people, sparking conversations and prompting action.

Kris’s impact extended far beyond the borders of the United Kingdom. Her advocacy efforts transcended cultural and geographical boundaries, resonating with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Through social media, public speaking engagements, and media appearances, Kris fearlessly shared her story, offering hope and support to those facing similar challenges. Her candidness, humor, and authenticity endeared her to countless supporters, who affectionately referred to her as their “breast friend.”

Despite battling her own health issues, Kris remained deeply committed to her cause, refusing to let cancer define her. She approached each day with optimism and resilience, embracing life to the fullest while tirelessly championing the importance of early detection and self-care. Kris’s unwavering determination and infectious spirit inspired a global community of supporters, who rallied behind her in solidarity.

Tragically, on May 6, Kris Hallenga passed away, leaving behind a profound legacy of courage, compassion, and advocacy. While her physical presence may be gone, her spirit lives on through the countless lives she touched and the lasting impact of her work. Kris’s legacy serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration, reminding us all of the power of one individual to effect positive change in the world.
