Comedian And Celebrity Impersonator Dies At 52

Comedian Ron Sexton was better known as a character he portrayed on “The Bob and Tom Show.” That character was named Donnie Baker, but it wasn’t the only character he was known for. He also played characters named Floyd the Trucker and Kenny Tarmac in addition to impersonating a variety of celebrities.

Now, Sexton’s family has shared the sad news that Sexton has died. He was only 52 years old.

In a statement on Facebook, Sexton’s family wrote, “It is with immense sadness that we let everyone know that Ron Sexton passed away yesterday. He was Donnie Baker to most of you, but Ron and Dad to us. Please respect our privacy at this time and pray for our family.”

Sexton’s family shared that he was in the middle of a comedy tour when he died on the way to the location of his next performance. He was in Ohio at the time. His family did not share a cause of death.

Upon hearing the news of Sexton’s death, Sexton’s friend Dusty Privette posted a tribute to Sexton. He praised Sexton for his “dedication to his fans” and for his “uncanny ability to make people feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether it was sharing a heartfelt conversation, signing autographs, or posing for countless selfies, he made each fan feel like they were the most important person in the world.”

Privette shared, “Ron Sexton, as Donnie Baker, brought joy, laughter, and an authentic connection to countless lives. His ability to make people feel like they were part of something special was a testament to his remarkable character.” He added, “As we mourn the loss of a dear friend and extraordinary entertainer, let us remember Ron Sexton, not only for his comedic brilliance but also for the immense love he had for his fans. May his memory continue to bring laughter and happiness to all who were touched by his genuine spirit.”

Sexton is survived by his wife, Tracy, and their children, Eric, Alex, Abigail, Aliah Jim, and Ila. Rest in peace.
