Child Actor Star Passed Away At 16 In Tragic Accident
Hudson Joseph Meek, a 16-year-old actor, tragically lost his life following a fall from a moving vehicle just days before Christmas.
The incident occurred on the evening of December 19 in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, a suburb south of Birmingham. Hudson, known for his role in Baby Driver, suffered severe blunt force injuries in the accident according to the New York Post. Despite medical efforts, he passed away peacefully two days later, on December 21.
His Mother confirmed Hudson’s death in a Facebook post.
“Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.
Specific details regarding a Celebration of Hudson’s Life to be held on December 28, as well as how to contribute to a scholarship in Hudson’s memory at Vestavia Hills High School in lieu of flowers, will follow.
Please pray for our family and friends as we all process this sudden and tragic loss.”
Hudson Joseph Meek (July 1, 2008 – December 21, 2024) was a talented young actor best known for his role in the critically acclaimed film Baby Driver (2017). Born and raised in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, Hudson displayed a passion for performing arts at an early age, captivating those around him with his charisma and enthusiasm.
Hudson’s acting debut came when he was just nine years old, landing a part in Baby Driver. He portrayed the young version of Ansel Elgort’s character, Baby, in the movie, showcasing an impressive ability to convey emotion and depth on screen. His performance garnered attention and praise, positioning him as a rising star in Hollywood.

He also made guest appearances on the Emmy-nominated television series MacGyver and lent his voice to commercials for Toys R Us, McDonald’s, and the popular online video game League of Legends.
Meek led a vibrant life beyond the screen as a sophomore at Vestavia Hills High School, where he was actively involved in various activities. He played on the football team, sang with the Honor Choir, and participated in student government.
Outside of school, Meek achieved remarkable milestones, earning an advanced open water scuba diving certification at just 14 years old and traveling to all 50 U.S. states.
Meek is survived by his parents, brother, grandmothers, aunts, and uncles.
