Back in February, Audrina Patridge, who is best known for her role on the reality TV series “The Hills,” shared the devastating news that her 15-year-old niece, Sadie, had suddenly died.

In a post on Instagram, Patridge shared multiple pictures of her niece through the years and captioned the post, “My heart hurts to even write this. My beautiful niece is now in heaven. I know Its not goodbye forever, but it is the hardest to say goodbye for now.”

Then Patridge concluded her caption by writing directly to her late niece. She told Sadie, “We will miss you and cherish every single moment we had with you. Rest in peace Say Say!! We love you forever & ever!”

In the post in February, Patridge did not share a cause of death. In fact, at the time, a cause of death had yet to be determined.

Now, 9 months later, we have more information. Her cause of death has been determined to be a drug overdose, but the investigation is not over. Police told TMZ that they are investigating how Sadie managed to get drugs. Who sold them to her? It’s possible that there will be criminal charges related to Sadie’s death.

One source who spoke to TMZ claims that Sadie bought Percocet through Snapchat and that it was laced with fentanyl. That may or may not be true. If it is true, police will attempt to track down the person who sold Sadie the Percocet.

If it’s true that Sadie died from a drug overdose due to fentanyl, it would not be the first time that something like this happened through drugs sold via Snapchat. In fact, Dr. Laura Berman’s son Samuel died at the age of 16 after buying drugs laced with fentanyl through a seller on Snapchat. In his case, it was Xanax that was laced with fentanyl.

Then there’s Mac Miller who also died from an overdose due to drugs laced with fentanyl. In his case, the person who sold him the drugs was sentenced to 17.5 years behind bars.

Patridge has yet to comment on the new information about her niece’s cause of death.
