‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ Actor Dies At 68
Actor Camden Toy may be best known for his work on ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer.’ He portrayed many different villains and monsters on the show, but his face may not be familiar because he always wore a lot of makeup during the show as he transformed into these scary characters.
Unfortunately, on December 11, 2023, Toy died at 68. His cause of death was pancreatic cancer.
Days before his death, on December 7, 2023, Toy’s longtime partner, Bethany Henderson, announced the sad news on Facebook that Toy had cancer and was not expected to live much longer.
Henderson wrote, “My heart is breaking as I watch my Love vanish before me!” She explained that Toy first found out he had pancreatic cancer “in February last year after months of mysterious pain.”
At first, Toy and Henderson were “hopeful.” She wrote, “For many reasons we were very hopeful for, at least, a longer and more fruitful time on planet Earth. Even the more recent challenges felt more like a hiccup in progress. Unfortunately, it looks like we’ve reached the end of the road with the doctor’s treatments. His condition has declined a lot in the last 2 months and tremendously in the last several days.”
While those close to Toy knew about his diagnosis, Toy did not reveal the news publicly. Henderson explained, “He chose, for many reasons, not to announce his illness publicly, and so, unfortunately, this may be new and shocking news to many of his fans. We both apologize for this and please know that he has appreciated you all so much, as have I!”
At the time of her post, Toy was still alive but fading fast and unable to communicate. She explained, “I will be answering any calls or texts as I’m able.” She later added an adendum writing, “If you wish to leave a voice message via Messenger, message me, and I will play it for him. I can no longer access his fb or messenger accounts. Thank you all for your wonderful posts and messages of love and light!”
Toy is survived by Henderson as well as his mother and sister.
